Developing a capital campaign for a sea turtle hospital and marine-sciences research center in Florida.
Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a nonprofit facility based in Juno Beach, FL that helps rehabilitate threatened sea turtles and promotes conservation of ocean ecosystems. One of Florida's most visited tourist destinations, the growth of its popularity and importance of its mission demanded an expansion of the entire facility.
To raise the $25 million required, the Center launched a capital campaign called Waves of Progress, the centerpiece of which was to be a handsome piece directed to donors. I created a 20-page, wire-bound prospectus laying out an easy-to-understand brief for the expansion, which included a foldout of the architect’s vision for the site, a 30-year timeline of achievements, and a commitment to the Center’s future in the words of key donors. I created additional collateral pieces for individual donors.
The campaign wound up raising more than $30 million, well beyond their initial goal.
In 2025 I was asked to design a logo for their new oceanfront event space, The Eleanor, named for the Center's founder.
