Kirkland & Ellis
Celebrating a legendary law firm’s anniversary.
I've worked with law firms over many years to produce marketing materials and websites. In 2009, had the chance to design a 100th anniversary book for the highly respected Chicago-based law firm Kirkland & Ellis, which was celebrating a century in business.
To honor the occasion, Kirkland & Ellis wanted to tell their story with an elegant, 100-page coffee table book documenting not only their century of success, but their place in U.S. history, having argued some of the most important cases of the 20th century.
I designed a series of spreads that established the book's visual style, grid, color palette, typography, use of imagery, and overall tone, which included a timeline that ran across every page.
I also designed a companion book containing the correspondence between the firm’s founders.
