American Museum of Natural History

Creating bold, identifiable imagery that engages people and travels well.

When the American Museum of Natural History promotes a blockbuster exhibit like Traveling the Silk Road, the show’s visual identity has to be incredibly eye-catching and also hold up for the exhibit’s duration.

I created a key image to define the exhibit that became a highly recognizable fixture for a full year on New York's subway platforms, bus shelters, street banners, and in all forms of print and web media. And the artwork traveled with the show to museums around the country and around the world.

Later projects for the museum included all graphics for its seasonal butterfly exhibit, which had to be particularly kid-friendly; and developing designs for Race to the End of the Earth, which evoked the cold beauty of the South Pole while remaining warm enough for the merchandising program.
